Introducing Gran Torino ristorante and bar by Neil Perry, in Double Bay.
A celebration of vibrant Italian flavours and premium Australian produce, Gran Torino offers a contemporary, elevated take on classic Italian dining. Our menu highlights house‑made antipasti, hand‑rolled pasta, impeccably sourced seafood, signature steaks, and timeless dolci, all crafted with exceptional ingredients and a deep respect for provenance.
Our thoughtfully curated wine list showcases exceptional Italian, European, and Australian bottles, chosen to complement every dish and occasion.
Inspired by Italy’s iconic aperitivo culture, our bar serves perfectly balanced Bellinis, Martinis, and Campari‑led spritzes, created to pair seamlessly with small plates and relaxed golden‑hour gatherings.
Our beef program showcases the finest Australian producers through a distinctly Italian lens. From grass-fed pure-blood Chianina - one of the world’s oldest and largest cattle breeds, prized for its porcelain-white appearance and exceptional flavour, and served at only a select few restaurants in Australia - to Speckle Park, each cut is chosen for provenance, integrity and depth of flavour, then cooked simply to let the beef speak for itself.
Expect iconic Italian steaks, generous cuts and a menu designed for sharing - bold, honest and unmistakably Gran Torino.

What's On
Celebrating one of Italy’s great estates, Marchesi di Grésy, this exclusive dinner will be hosted by Neil Perry and one of the most recognisable figures in Italian wine, Jeff Chilcott. Kiwi-born and endlessly charismatic, Jeff is the Cellarmaster of Marchesi di Grésy and custodian of its legendary Barbaresco cru, Martinenga, the first officially recognised great vineyard of Barbaresco. This monopole vineyard sits proudly in the dress circle of Barbaresco, flanked by the iconic Rabajà and Asili vineyards. Despite their close proximity, each produces wines of strikingly individual character. Over the course of the evening, Jeff will guide guests through a remarkable selection of the estate’s wines, with a special focus on Martinenga and its celebrated sub-plots Gaiun and Camp Gros. These wines are renowned for their extraordinary beauty, fragrance and elegance, which are among the finest expressions of Nebbiolo anywhere in the world. The dinner will be preceded by elegant warm-up acts, including the estate’s superb Chardonnay and refined Langhe Nebbiolo, all thoughtfully matched to a bespoke menu by Neil and Head Chef Richard Purdue. This promises to be a fascinating and memorable evening of exceptional wines, inspired Italian cooking and engaging conversation, with guest numbers limited to just 20. $300pp includes a 4-course menu, wine, and 10% gratuity.
